In the quest for effective decarbonisation in the automotive sector, Faconauto, the Spanish Association of Automotive Dealers, highlights the importance of fiscal and strategic measures that can accelerate this transformation. Beyond electrification, the organisation emphasises the need to support a variety of technological options to achieve sustainable mobility for all.

Among the fiscal proposals that Faconauto is presenting to the future Government, the following stand out:

Corporate Tax Deduction: The request for a 10% deduction on investments made in the purchase of industrial and commercial vehicles. This measure could encourage investment in cleaner and more efficient technologies.
Exemption from personal income tax on public subsidies: The request to exempt from income tax public aids aimed at the adoption of cleaner vehicles. This measure can encourage the adoption of sustainable technologies.
Full or Partial VAT Deduction: The call to move towards a full VAT deduction on electrified vehicles or, at least, to establish a large percentage deduction. This measure can make electric vehicles more affordable and attractive to consumers.

Faconauto also advocates for the budgetary continuity of the heavy vehicle fleet transformation plan, which has a deadline of April 2024. The organisation stresses that this sector is vital and requires continuous attention in order to achieve a successful transition to cleaner technologies.

In line with this, Faconauto calls for the establishment of a parallel commercial vehicle renewal plan, backed by 400 million euros, as well as a scrappage scheme. These measures could make a significant contribution to modernising the vehicle fleet and reducing emissions.

In summary, Faconauto emphasises that a comprehensive decarbonisation strategy requires a holistic approach and close collaboration between industry and government. Fiscal proposals and strategic plans can act as effective catalysts to accelerate the adoption of cleaner technologies and move towards sustainable and environmentally friendly mobility.
