The Basque Government department has launched an aid programme for the modernisation of small and medium-sized road passenger and freight transport companies, with a total investment of 5.14 million euros, financed by the Next Generation EU Funds.

According to Europa Press, the aid includes various eligible actions, such as the management of electronic control documents, the use of second-generation intelligent tachographs, the integration of electronic control documents in management systems, the implementation of TMS/ERP and SAE systems, the updating of SAE systems, the implementation of applications for electronic complaints and the improvement of ticketing systems.

The main objective of these grants is to achieve sustainable, safe and connected mobility, increasing the efficiency of companies and the transport system through digitisation, sustainability, connectivity, system renewal and the introduction of new technologies.
