Almost a year ago, we shared our first collaboration with Bilbaotruck to promote a more sustainable future in the transport sector. On that occasion, we achieved a significant milestone by sponsoring the planting of 60 trees in Galicia, an action that allowed us to capture 88 tonnes of CO2 from the atmosphere.
Today, we are proud to announce that this commitment not only remains firm, but that we have gone one step further to continue making a positive impact on the environment.
Results that fill us with pride
During the second half of 2024, we have managed to contribute to the care of the planet with new advances:
- 82 trees planted, promoting reforestation and the creation of green spaces.
- 120 tonnes of CO2 removed from the atmosphere, with positive effects over the next 35 years.
This represents a significant evolution from our first initiative, reinforcing our commitment to sustainability and extending our positive environmental impact.
Why is this project important?
Freight transport is an essential pillar of the global economy, but it also represents one of the main sources of environmental impact. At Fernández Aedo, we take responsibility for leading the change towards a more sustainable model.
Planting trees not only helps to offset CO2 emissions, but also generates multiple benefits:
- Improves air quality: Trees absorb carbon dioxide and release oxygen, contributing to a cleaner environment.
- Protects biodiversity: Reforested spaces provide habitat for diverse species, promoting healthy ecosystems.

Our partnership with Bilbaotruck demonstrates that, by working together, we can make a real and lasting impact. The planting of 82 trees and the removal of 120 tonnes of CO2 are just the beginning of a commitment that we continue to reinforce every day. This follows on from the first stage of our project in 2024, when we planted 60 trees and removed 88 tonnes of CO2.
We hope to have the opportunity to continue to join this cause in the future and continue to promote positive change in the transport industry.
